04 / 06How it works

Five small steps, a trip you’ll keep retelling.

Booking with us isn’t a checkout flow. It’s a conversation. We don’t charge until you confirm — drafting an itinerary is on the house, even if the trip never happens.

01 / 02The five steps

  1. 01

    You send us a note

    Free · 48h

    Inquiry.

Use the contact form, drop us an email, or call. Tell us when you’d like to come, who’s travelling with you, and three things you’re curious about. That’s enough to start.

  2. 02

    We talk it through

    Free · 30 min

    Consultation.

Through convenient communication at your preferred time, we learn about your interests, budget, schedule, and travel goals. Every detail helps us create a journey designed specifically for you.

  3. 03

    We sketch a route

    Free · 5 days

    Itinerary draft.

We send you a written draft: route, accommodation suggestions, day-by-day highlights, indicative budget. Edit it freely. Most travelers iterate two or three times — that’s how the trip becomes yours.

  4. 04

    We make it real

    On confirmation

    Confirm & book.

Once you say yes, we book accommodations, transport, guides and experiences. You’ll get a single tidy itinerary document for your trip, plus our line in case anything moves.

  5. 05

    We’re reachable

    On the ground

    Travel day.

We meet you on arrival or stay close by phone — whichever you prefer. If a typhoon shifts a train, if you fall in love with a town and want one more night, we adjust on the fly.

02 / 02Common questions

Things travelers
often ask us.

How early should we start planning?
Three to six months out is ideal — it gives us room to book the small ryokan and unique restaurants. We can sometimes do shorter timelines, especially in shoulder season.
Is there a charge for the itinerary draft?
No. The first draft and revisions are free. You only commit when you confirm the trip and we start booking on your behalf.
Do you only run group tours?
Most of our work is private. The two or three open tours we run each season are small (6–8 travelers) and friendly, but we’re happy to design something fully bespoke for any group size.
What languages can you guide in?
Our website and itineraries are in English. Live guides are bilingual English/Japanese. We can also arrange French, Spanish, or Chinese guides on request.
What if our plans change after we confirm?
We expect them to. Trains get cancelled, you fall in love with a town. We’ll adjust on the fly — that’s why we’re reachable throughout your trip.
